“Communing with God in Prayer”
Jesus Christ died so that we might have access to our Father in heaven. Imagine having a private meeting with our Creator and Redeemer in the name and work of Jesus Christ. We speak of this privilege as prayer. Yet it is much more than the ritual or the act of prayer; it is fellowship with our Triune Savior (). In prayer, we get to pour out our heart to God.
I. Prayer is Communion With God –
A. You let me talk with You
1. And ask questions –
2. Because Jesus died and rose again and intercedes for us, we have access to God –

3. As you wait on the Lord, you are able to run and to rise up on eagle’s wings –
B. In prayer, we hear the grief of our God –
1. Prayer is to learn God’s desire not merely to express our own desires
2. Prayer is for us to understand grief –
3. God has no pleasure in the death of the wicked –
III. Prayer Gives Hope –
A. God rescues His people through judgment
1. That we might hope in Him –
2. God will redeem Israel –
